Veerampattinam Beach is located at Veerampattinam

Territory of Puducherry. The village has quite a lengthy and one of the most
beautiful beaches in India which attracts
tourist from local as well as abroad. A large number of people take sun bath
and relax at the beach almost round the year. One can also enjoy seeing fishermen working with
traditional fishing crafts and nets at dedicated sites. Other scenes including
fishing boats entering into the harbor can be seen while having fun at the
beach.
The beach gets its name from the village located here,
which happens to be the biggest coastal village of the Union Territory of
Pondicherry. The beach lies between
Pondicherry & Cuddalore in the south. Since this village has rivers on both
sides, it helps in protecting during cyclones as swell in the sea is taken in
by them. The village also happens to be home to the Sengazhuneer Amman Temple.
This area always remains green with extensive Palm Groves adding to the scenic
beauty of the Serene & flat beach. Much sought after by beach lovers.
The
beach is located at about 500 meters from Veerampattinam Sengazhuneer Amman
Temple, 2.5 Kms from Ariyankuppam Bus Stop, 3 Kms from Ariyankuppam New Bus
Stop, 5 Kms from Chunnambar Boat House, 8 Kms from Puducherry Main Bus Stand, 9
Kms from Puducherry Railway Station, 11 Kms from Puducherry Airport, 21 Kms
from Cuddalore and 153 Kms from Chennai Airport. The beach is situated on
Puducherry to Cuddalore Route (NH 45A). The place is well connected to
Puducherry by means of Bus and Autos. If you are coming from Cuddalore or
Pondicherry by Bus, Tourists are advised to get down at Ariyankuppam Bus Stop
and take Auto from the Bus Stop to reach this place. There are also local
private and government buses goes very close to this spot, but the frequency is
limited. Nearest Railway Station is located at Puducherry. Nearest Airport is located
at Puducherry and Chennai.
