Varadaraja Perumal Temple, Villianur, Puducherry
Varadaraja Perumal Temple is a Hindu Temple dedicated to
Lord Vishnu located at Villianur Town in Union Territory of Puducherry, India. This is an ancient temple with single
prakaram. Presiding Deity is called as Varadaraja Perumal with his consorts
Sridevi and Bhoodevi. Garuda, Dwaja Sthambam and Bali Peedam are found facing
the Sanctum. There are shrines for Chakkarathzhwar, Andal, Lord Krishna with
his consorts Satyabhama and Rukmini, Chakravarthi Thirumagan, Vaishnava Azhwars
and Anjaneya (Siriya Thiruvadi) in the Temple premises.
There is a Vaikunda Ekadesi Mandapam in the Temple
premises. The Temple is located at about 500 meters from Villianur Bus Stop,
200 meters from Villianur Thirukameswarar Temple, 750 meters from Villianur
Railway Station, 9 Kms from Puducherry Main Bus Stand, 9 Kms from Puducherry
Railway Station, 11 Kms from Puducherry Airport, 30 Kms from Villupuram Railway
Station, 32 Kms from Villupuram, 150 Kms from Chennai Airport and 159 Kms from
Chennai.
The temple is located on the Puducherry-Villupuram Road
near Villianur Bus Stop and Villianur Thirukameswarar Temple. Bus facilities
are available from both Puducherry and Villupuram. Buses are available for
every 10 minutes from Puducherry Main Bus Stand and Villupuram Bus Stand.
Nearest Railway Station is located at Villianur and Puducherry. Nearest Airport
is located at Puducherry and Chennai.
