Arasaleeswarar Temple is a Hindu Temple dedicated to Lord Siva located at Thiru Arasili, presently called as Ozhinthiyapattu in Villupuram District of Tamilnadu. Presiding Deity is called as Arasaleeswarar / Arasili Naathar / Ashwatheswarar and Mother is called as Periya Nayaki / Azhagiya Nayagi. This is one of the 276 Devara Padal Petra Shiva Sthalams and 31st Shiva Sthalam in Thondai Nadu. Tirugnanasambandar has sung hymns in praise of Lord Shiva of this temple. This temple has been praised in the Padmapuranam.

The Temple remains open from 06.30 AM to 12.00 Noon and 04.30 PM to 07.30 PM. 
Festivals
10-day Vaikasi Brahmotsavam in May-June, Maha Shivarathri in February-March and Tirukarthikai in November-December is the festivals celebrated in the temple. Since the kings from the Chalukya dynasty worshiped Lord Shiva on Prathosam days here, poojas on Prathosam days is famous.

Prayers
Since this temple’s Sthala Viruksham (peepal tree) is related to star Poosam, this temple is considered as a Parihara Sthalam for Poosam Nakshatram. It is believed that worshiping Lord Shiva here will grant the boon of childbirth to childless couples. It is believed that performing an abishek to Lord with the leaves of Arasu tree would bring back the positions lost by the devotee earlier and also reward with promotions. Realizing their wishes, devotees offer vastras to Lord and Mother and do Angapradakshinam-rolling around the prakara.

Agastheeshwarar Temple is a Hindu Temple dedicated to Lord Shiva located at Kiliyanur Village in Villupuram District of Tamilnadu. Presiding Deity is called as Agastheeshwarar and Mother is called as Akilandeswari. This is 276 Devara Padal Petra Shiva Sthalam and 33rd Shiva Sthalam in Thondai Naadu. It is said that this is the last (276th) Paadal Petra Shiva Sthalam that has been identified so far. Kiliyanur is called as Kiliyannavur during ancient period. This is a Rahu-Kedu parikara Sthalam.

History
This temple is around 1500 years old and was built in the Chola period. “Killi” is the surname of Chola kings and there are historical references to kings from the Chola period like King Nedunkilli and King Killivalavan. It is possible that this place’s name “Kiliyanur” might have been derived from its connection to the Chola dynasty. As per the stone inscriptions in the temple, it can be deduced that this temple was first built using bricks and later reconstructed using granite during King Paranthakan Chola-I’s period.

It is also believed that worshiping Lord Shiva here will grant the boon of childbirth to childless couples. It is a common belief that drinking the abishekam milk (milk that has been poured on the lingam) at this temple can cure illness, especially stomach ailments. Since Adhiseshan is believed to have worshipped Lord Shiva here, this temple is considered as a parikara Sthalam for Rahu-Kedu Dosham.

The Temple is located at about 14 Kms from Irumbai, 19 Kms from Tindivanam, 19 Kms from Mailam, 25 Kms from Puducherry, 48 Kms from Villupuram and 150 Kms from Chennai. The village Kiliyanur is situated on the Thindivanam to Pondicherry bus route. This temple can be reached either from Thindivanam or Puducherry. The place is located at about 2 Kms from the highway 66 (Thindivanam to Puducherry passing via Kiliyanur). There are no direct buses to the temple. Auto facility is available from a nearby place called Tiruchitrambalam Koot road which can be reached by bus from Thindivanam. Nearest Railway Stations are located at Thindivanam and Puducherry. Nearest Airport is located at Chennai.
