Thengai Swamigal Jeeva Samadhi Temple, Sulthanpet,

Thengai Swamigal Jeeva Samadhi Temple is a burial place
of Siddhar Thengai Swamigal located at Sulthanpet near Villianur Town in Union
Territory of Puducherry, India. Devotees who were coming to visit the Siddhar
used to come with Coconut. He used to break the coconut into two pieces. He
used to read the predictions from one piece and the devotees will take the
other piece with them. Devotees keep the other piece in their pooja room and
start worship them. By doing so, it is believed that all their problems will be
solved. Hence, he is called as Thengai Swamigal (Thengai mean Coconut in
Tamil). First Monday of every month is very special here.
Jeeva Samadhi is situated on Pondicherry to Villupuram
Road near Villianur Sub Station. The Temple is located at about 100 meters from
Villianur Sub Station Bus Stop, 1 Km from Villianur Railway Station, 2 Kms from
Villianur, 2 Kms from Villianur Bus Stop, 7.5 Kms from Puducherry Bus Stand, 8
Kms from Puducherry Railway Station, 10 Kms from Puducherry Airport, 33 Kms
from Villupuram, 31 Kms from Villupuram Railway Station, 152 Kms from Chennai
Airport and 159 Kms from Chennai.
Bus facilities are available from both Puducherry and
Villupuram. Buses are available for every 10 minutes from Puducherry Main
Bus Stand and Villupuram Bus Stand. From Pondicherry, take the Villupuram bound
Bus or Villianur Bus and get down at Villianur Sub Station Bus Stop or Villianur
Bus Stop. Share Autos are available from Villianur Bus Stop to reach this
Temple. Nearest Railway Station is located at Villianur and Puducherry. Nearest
Airport is located at Puducherry and Chennai.
