Aravamudha Perumal Temple is a Hindu Temple dedicated to Lord Vishnu located at Thirumangalam Village near Thirukkanur in Villupuram District of Tamilnadu. Presiding Deity is called as Aravamudha Perumal and Mother is called as Komalavalli. The Temple is located close to Union Territory of Puducherry. The Temple is about 500 years old.

Legends
Thirumangalam acquired the name because a woman named Thirumangai got married after offering worship in the temple. There is a belief that if unmarried persons light ghee lamps in the temple for nine consecutive Thursdays they would soon tie the nuptial knots.
History
According to the inscriptions the presiding deity in Thirumangalam and the one at Kumbakonam Aravamudha Perumal Temple were installed on the same day.
The Temple
The Temple is having three tiered Rajagopuram with Dwajasthambam, Maha Mandapam, the Artha Mandapam and the sanctum sanctorum. Presiding Deity is called as Aravamudha Perumal and Mother is called as Komalavalli. There are Utsava Idols of Aravamudhan, two Naachiyars, Andal, Chakkarathzhwar, Anjaneyar and Desikan in the Temple. The depiction of Dasavatharam sculptures on the main entrance also proclaims the ancient origin of the Thirumangalam temple.

The Temple is situated on Puducherry to Thirukkanur Road. Regular buses are plying between Puducherry and Thirukkanur. Devotees has to get down at Pidaripattu Bus Stop and take an auto to reach this Temple. Nearest Railway Stations are located at Puducherry, Vikravandi and Villupuram. Nearest Airport is located at Puducherry and Chennai.
