Sivasailanathar
Temple is a Hindu Temple dedicated to Lord Shiva located at Manaveli in Ariyankuppam Commune in Union
Territory of Puducherry. Presiding Deity is called as Sivasailanathar and
Mother is called as Thiripurasundari. Maha Nandhi in this Temple is the biggest
Nandhi all over Pondicherry. There is a Flag Staff made from single stone found
facing the sanctum. There are shrines for Ganesha, Lord Murugan with his
consorts Valli and Deivanai, 63 Nayanmars, Nalvars, a Lingam with small Nandhi,
Vinayaga, Naga Idols in the Temple premises. Paintings depicting the life story
of Nayanmars can be found in the Mandapam.

Temple is located at about 1 Km from Ariyankuppam Bus Stop, 1.5 Kms from Ariyankuppam
New Bus Stop, 2.5 Kms from Chunnambar Boat House, 6 Kms from Puducherry Main
Bus Stand, 7 Kms from Puducherry Railway Station, 10 Kms from Puducherry
Airport, 19 Kms from Cuddalore and 152 Kms from Chennai Airport. The Temple is
situated on Puducherry to Cuddalore Route (NH 45A). The place is well connected
to Puducherry by means of Bus and Autos. If you are coming from Cuddalore or
Pondicherry by Bus, Tourists are advised to get down at Ariyankuppam Bus Stop
and take Auto from the Bus Stop to reach this place. There are also local
private and government buses goes very close to this spot, but the frequency is
limited. Nearest Railway Station is located at Puducherry. Nearest Airport is
located at Puducherry and Chennai.
