Sarabeswarar Temple is a Hindu Temple dedicated to Lord Shiva located in Poothurai Village in Vanur Taluk in Villupuram District of Tamil Nadu. Poothurai was called as Bhudhathurai during ancient times.
Legends
This Linga here is worshipped by
all the Bhoodha Ganas and therefore Shiva is called as Bhudhapureeswarar.
The Temple
The temple had been dilapidated
completely, only the Linga was leftover. Now a small temple has been built for
the Linga and the Linga has been named as Sarabeswarar. Presiding Deity is called as Maha Jayaveera Sarabeswarar / Bhudhapureeswarar.
There is also a shrine for Prathiyangara Devi in the Temple premises.

get down at Thiruchitrambalam Koot Road Bus Stop and hire an auto to reach this
Temple. Share Autos also available from Thiruchitrambalam Koot Road. Take Auto
from Jipmer Bus Stop to reach this Temple.
