Jalakandeswarar Temple,
Edayarpalayam, Puducherry
Jalakandeswarar Temple is a Hindu Temple dedicated to Lord Shiva located in Edayarpalayam in Ariyankuppam Commune in Puducherry District in Union Territory of Puducherry. Presiding Deity is called as Jalakandeswarar and Mother is called as Akhilandeshwari.
The Temple
This Temple is facing towards east. Nandi and Balipeedam can be found facing sanctum. The Sanctum Sanctorum consists of Sanctum and Ardha Mandapam. Idols of Vinayaga and Murugan can be seen at the entrance of the sanctum. Presiding Deity is called as Jalakandeswarar and is facing east. He is housed in the sanctum in the form of Lingam. Chandikeswarar Shrine can be seen in his usual location. Mother is called as Akhilandeshwari. She is housed in a separate south facing shrine. Her shrine is situated to the left side of the sanctum. There are shrines for Murugan and Vinayaga in the temple premises.

located at about 350 meters from Edayarpalayam Bus Stop, 3.5 Kms from Ariyankuppam,
8 Kms from Puducherry Main Bus Stand, 8.5 Kms from Puducherry Railway Station,
12 Kms from Puducherry Airport, 16 Kms from Cuddalore and 152 Kms from Chennai
Airport. The Temple is situated on
Puducherry to Cuddalore Route (NH 45A). The place is well connected to
Puducherry by means of Buses and Autos. If you are coming from Cuddalore or
Pondicherry by Bus, Devotees are advised to get down at Edayarpalayam Bus Stop.

is situated at a walkable distance from this Bus Stop.

Puducherry and Chennai.
