Puducherry Science Centre & Planetarium (also known as Puducherry Science Park) is a public science planetarium located in Lawspet in Puducherry Town in Union Territory of Puducherry. The centre was designed, developed and set up by the National Council of Science Museums. The capital cost of Rupees 375 Lakhs approximately for this facility was equally shared by the Government of India and Government of Puducherry. The Digital Planetarium's cost was borne by the State. The Center was opened to Public on May 4, 2015.













Science Centre & Planetarium 
The Science Centre and Planetarium sprawl over a 3-acre land with a built-up area of 1500 m2. Each centre is unique in terms of theme, concept, mechanics and exhibitions considering local elements.
Marine Life Gallery:
The marine life gallery occupies 300 m2 divided in five sections Marine EcologyMarine DiversityMarine ResourcesThreats to Marine Resources and Marine Tourism.
Fun Science Gallery:
The Fun Science Gallery spreads over an area of about 300 m2, is full of opportunities for visitors to interact, explore and experience various aspects of science in a highly entertaining ambiance.
Science Park:
Outside, the Science Park covers 1 acre. It features interactive exhibits.
Digital Planetarium:
The Digital Planetarium simulates a dynamic view of the sky to inform visitors about astronomy.
Science Demonstration Corner:
The Science Demonstration Corner conducts live demonstrations and experiments to groups of visitors and students.
Children's Corner:
The "Children's Corner" is a place where children can enjoy simple experiments with a variety of puzzles and science kits.
Workshop:
A workshop equipped with tools and tackles is provided for maintenance of the exhibits and development of new ones.
Tickets
Students of government and government-aided schools will have free entry to the Science Centre and Planetarium, which would likely be fixed for certain days. For children up to the age of 12, the ticket price has been fixed at Rs 5 for the Science Centre and Rs 10 for the Planetarium. For adults, it has been fixed at Rs10 for the Science Centre and Rs 20 for the Planetarium. It is open from 10 a.m. to 5.30 p.m. every day except national and notified holidays.

The Planetarium is situated very close to Cluny School in Lawspet Area of Puducherry. The Planetarium is located at about 200 meters Poniyamman Kovil Bus Stop, 2 Kms from Puducherry Airport, 4 Kms from Puducherry Main Bus Stand, 5 Kms from Puducherry Railway Station and 145 Kms from Chennai Airport. The Planetarium is situated on Pondicherry Bus Stand to JIPMER (Gorimedu) Bus Route. Tourists can get down at Poniyamman Kovil Bus Stop. The Planetarium is located at a walkable distance from this Bus Stop. Taxis and Autos are also available to reach this Planetarium from any part of Puducherry. Nearest Railway Station is located at Puducherry. Nearest Airport is located at Puducherry and Chennai.
